Game must be made in heaven, but let’s give the game away early. Not. We were early units Subaru Impreza Cosworth STI CS400, as they were pre-production prototypes, and the early reviews were lukewarm.
Maybe it was a burn (the car overheated test). Take Scooby-mix in regular STI spec, and legendary tuner Cosworth. The result is a super-portal 395 bhp 4WD, damn that looks tempting on paper. Badge 400 HP and the draw will receive 400 km and tweaked-up chassis. But Scooby Cosworth will build 75 for the British market. The 2.5 liter boxer fourth power is tuned to produce 33% more. Subaru Impreza Cosworth STI CS400 engine using the TSI condition, physical and mental health of new turbo pistons, connecting rods and forged an oil pump for higher pressure.

It also changed the exhaust, suspension, brakes and wheels. Subaru says the 6-speed manual transmission regular “carbon fully synchronized applied to the three best placed” to handle the additional increase. Improved clutch mounted single stocks while the 4WD is 50-50. The suspension is enhanced with new Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers, ride height, 15 mm front. Cosworth Order comes with AP brakes front and rear discs and ABS made about sexually transmitted diseases.

Subaru Impreza Cosworth STI CS400 quotes 0-62 mph in 3.7 sec and a bit ridiculous really, the feeling is not so fast. We do not have time, but the acceleration would be something close to five points. Part of the problem is the mother of all turbo-lag. Press the accelerator and the engine running at about 3500 rpm, something happens. The slow build and then, suddenly, his ears scalded by whistles and roars, and jumps Cossie as pets, farmers quad exhaust. It’s all very 1980.

The engine also considers agriculture. Some of the shunt at low speed and is difficult to drive smoothly feather the clutch in the city. Feel the shift lever is built to work together: It is heavy and reluctant, the action is not satisfactory. The brakes are not much better, and feel bad after a week in France, they are stuttering. At least in Subaru Impreza Cosworth STI CS400 good trip. The shock absorption and pillowy kind of processing nodes, and is in fact a good road companion. Therein lies the irony: The Scooby must be polished on twisting mountain roads, but it is no longer at home with the M-way cruise, where the delay to the monumental and currencies, undermined by the less rigid.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8870282010128861685.post-23848056613462610512021-10-29T05:31:00.003-07:002023-07-22T20:38:06.274-07:00All New Peugeot 508

Peugeot released the official details of the all-new Peugeot 508, an upmarket car that replaces the 407 range. It has the looks and proportions to make anyone turn and look and look.

The long, long hood, looks designed for a V-12, but that's because the engine, a hefty V-8, is set well back behind the front wheels, to improve traction and handling it's in the mold of a traditional sports car. Of course, mid-engine coupes get their weight distribution right naturally and better. Even so, the sheer extravagance of the SLR McLaren, coupled with its smoothness and glamorous interior make this car one of a kind well one of 3,500, which is how many will be built.

But this is no boulevard cruiser: it has an amazing specification: 626 bhp, front- engine, rear-drive, automatic transmission, top speed 207 mph, and masses of high-tech carbon fiber. No, this isn't some fantasy of a Corvette that might be, it's Mercedes-Benz entry into the supercar/fantasy car league. This has to compete with the Ferrari Enzo and Porsche Carrera GT- and it does. It is a shade faster to 60 mph than the Carrera GT, and has the same top speed. Sure, it takes about a second longer to get to 120 mph, but who cares?

What sort of numbers are we talking? 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, and 0-120 in 10 seconds! Forget the numbers; this hits you in the back just like a racer. I mean, your average 'fast' car takes about 8 seconds to get to 60 mph, and in that time you're well over the ton in the SLT McLaren. A bit of a mouthful of a name, but Mercedes wanted to capitalize on the fact that their engines power the McLaren Grand Prix cars.

Why not mid-engined?

But surely, you need a mid-engined layout to get the maximum performance don't you? Maybe, but the layout of the SLR McLaren is more practical. Easier to get into, and it actually has a large trunk! So, Mercedes-Benz calls this the Gran Turismo car for the 21st century. In that role, the only competitor is the Bentley Continental GT and you could have two of them for the price of one SLR!

Super sleek to look at, super smooth inside

From the side, this is one super-sleek looking car, with everything sloping up to the windscreen, and then there's that short, curvy roof. The car is actually a bit higher than it looks 49.6 in, which is quite a bit higher than competing mid-engine coupes.

The body style is not just for show, either. It was designed to give plenty of down force at high speed to maintain stability this is one area where McLaren were involved in the design. The composite doors don't swing outward, but upward from the windshield pillars and then inward out of the way. Then there are those sexy outlet grilles on the sides they let the hot air get away from the engine and those short, stubby exhausts.

From the front, the styling is less successful, the grille being rather garish. But this is certainly a very different car to look at. It gets the refinement of the SL with loads of high-tech features that push the cost to the stratosphere.

Complex carbon fiber structure and composite panels

Almost all of the svelte body panels and the structure itself make up a complex carbon fiber composite shell it's not just a tub with metal extensions, but the complete shell which includes the roof, rear wings and front and rear safety struts as well as the very rigid cockpit. There is an aluminum sub-frame to carry the engine, but the rest of the structure is carbon fiber.

Normally, the thousands of parts that make up the shell are laid up by hand, but Mercedes-Benz engineers have learned from the textile industry how to automate assembly of the carbon fiber. Even so, this is one mighty expensive body but light. Mercedes-Benz reckons it's half the weight of a steel body. The car weighs which seems a lot at 3,890 lb. It looks better when compared with the 4,300 lb of the SL 55AMG.

But… not so good for a car in the fantasy league. That's over 800 lb more than the Carrera GT, despite all that carbon fiber. Some of that extra weight stems from the layout. There's all that transmission to get the power from the front to the back that's absent in the Carrera GT or Enzo. Still, could do better.

Supercharged V-8 engine

To power the SLR McLaren, Mercedes dug into its array of standard engines, and got AMG to soup up the V-8 from the SL 55 AMG. This is also larger than the standard Mercedes mill, with a displacement of 5.4 liters. As on the current generation of Mercedes-Benz engines, there are two inlet and one exhaust valve per cylinder, instead of the fashionable four valves per cylinder. This hasn't held back the power output, not one bit.

The new unit has the same type of screw type supercharger as the SL 55 AMG, but the boost pressure is turned up from 12 psi to13 psi. So that the engine can sit below that ultra-low sloping hood, they've converted the engine to a dry sump, which is a good move.

It's not so much the 626 bhp at 6,500 rpm that gives the car is super performance as the amazing amount of low-speed power. Maximum torque comes in from 3,250 right up to 5,000 rpm. And it's a massive amount of pulling power with 575 lbft. What a superb engine this is, suitable for burbling along Hollywood Boulevard or foot flat on the floor to 200 mph and more….

A fully-automatic gearbox?

Yet despite that searing acceleration, this car has an automatic box. I don't mean a racing type semi-automatic with automatic clutch and gearshift, but a normal old slush pump automatic with five speeds some more modest cars have six-speed automatics. This car just doesn't need six speeds. With that massive low-speed pulling power you could probably out drag everything in sight to 150 mph with a four-speed box!

Of course, there are a pair of buttons on the steering wheel so you can change gear, but unless you're in hilly country, automatic works just fine.

How about getting the power on to the road? Well, there are the massive tires you'd expect on a car of this type, either 18 or 19 inch diameter, and the rear tires are about a foot wide. That's wide enough put a lot of power on the tarmac and they do. Of course, it's got all the electronics to help you keep control you get on lesser Mercedes.

Racing-type suspension and brakes

To show off the racing heritage, the car has double wishbone suspension front and rear, and the wishbones are forged aluminum. More like a racing car still are the brake discs: they're ceramic and reinforced by carbon fibers. The result is discs that will last a very long time, and carry on braking even when they get very, very hot. Brake fade at high temperatures would be a real problem on a car of this type just imagine how much energy you use slowing from 180 mph down to 40 mph a few times. Mercedes says that the brakes can provide 2,000 hp of braking power! Some brakes.

So that's the story under the hood. Inside the cockpit, though, there's a sense of luxury which is definitely what you need on a Grand Tourer. So far as I can gather, the SLR McLaren is more like a Grand Tourer than a racer when it comes to handling, and could probably do with some improvement in that area.

Adaptive spoiler and an air brake

Aerodynamics are very important on fast cars, and Mercedes-Benz worked with McLaren to get an almost smooth under body, to get the exhausts out at the sides this reduces drag and to put diffusers, which are used on Grand Prix cars, at the front and rear.

One of the features that Mercedes-Benz wanted was a spoiler that could be adjusted to suit the down force needed, and also act as an air brake. An air brake was fitted to the Le Mans Mercs in the 50s. This spoiler or wing, raises automatically, and adjusts its angle in steps as the speed increases. When the driver brakes heavily, the angle is adjusted to just 25 degrees from the vertical, giving some real air braking.

Still, you just can't get the weight distribution you get with a mid-engined coupe, so it's bound to lose out somewhere. On the other hand, though, this is one fantasy car that is practical enough to use on the road well on roads where there aren't serious speed limits and not much traffic. Also, it's good to see a really exciting alternative to the ultra-low mid-engine coupes that make up most of the entrants in the fantasy car league.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8870282010128861685.post-59788294442256701352021-03-20T00:49:00.004-07:002023-07-22T20:38:45.482-07:00MPV With Qualified Specifications, Mitsubishi Xpander

MPV cars are indeed one type that is in great demand. Various car manufacturers are also competing to provide the best MPV car products, one of which is Mitsubishi. This car manufacturer has a type of MPV with qualified specifications, namely the Mitsubishi Xpander.

At first glance, this car looks so futuristic thanks to the entire body design. In fact, this car has the theme Attractive Dynamic Design, which is a combination of the concept of SUV and MPV, of course. At the front, it is equipped with a headlamp design which is also futuristic and is one of the differences from other types of MPV. There is also a black grille which is large enough to give a much more manly and sturdy impression.

For the side, the Mitsubishi Xpander has solid fenders with a boxy design and elongated lines. Meanwhile, in the rear sector, it has a stop lamp that uses LED technology so that it looks more sporty. The interior carried by the Mitsubishi Xpander has a luxurious design and a spacious cabin. The dashboard is neatly and beautifully crafted with a contrasting white blend that has silver accents.

Other features are also embedded in this car, namely the presence of bluetooth, navigation system, and music control console. On the touch screen is also equipped with a variety of Apple carplay and Android menus. The Mitsubishi Xpander is equipped with a button that is integrated with the navigation system on the touch screen menus and the head unit.

The next latest Mitsubishi Xpander specification is the engine. Mitsubishi Xpander uses a Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) type engine with 4A91 DOHC technology with a capacity of up to 1.5 liters with 16 valves. This car is also equipped with Front Wheel Drive System technology which will produce more power. The powerful power it has can later be channeled into two choices of transmission systems, namely 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual.

Various facilities are also embedded in this one car, so that users will feel much more comfortable. Some of these facilities are entertainment features that use a wide touch screen on the head unit. The braking facilities used are ABS, EBD, and BA technology which can make it much easier for the driver to control the car's speed optimally. This technology also prevents the tire from slipping which can endanger the rider.

Mitsubishi Xpander also features a key less operation. This feature has a function for the driver to be able to start the engine or close the door without a key. Mitsubishi Xpander also has various other interesting features, including safety features that use Front SRS Airbags in the interior space as protection for the driver and passengers.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8870282010128861685.post-53438789457031538292021-03-13T09:54:00.038-08:002023-07-22T20:38:52.444-07:00 Maserati GranSport With Sequential Gearbox

Here’s a supercar that wins you over straight away: the Maserati GranSport. It has the classic lines of a grand touring supercar, which look great from any angle even in black, which is not my favorite color for any car.

Based on the Guigaro styled coupe, which has been around for quite a while, the GranSport has subtle styling changes that not only improve aerodynamics but also make the rather heavy tail less obtrusive. It starts with a chin spoiler at the front, then there are curved side skirts and a small rear spoiler. The classic long, sloping nose with flush-fitting headlamps, a high wide hood, fastback coac hroof and curved rear fenders. Very nice. Not only that, but the Cd is fairly low at 0.33.

Genuine 2+2

There is a surprising amount of room in the back - fine for two adults for short journeys and there is a small trunk. Normally, you would not expect to travel far with more than one passenger, so the Maserati GranSport appears to fulfill the need of a grand touring supercar to provide comfort for two and their luggage travelling at speed. And top speed is about 180 mph.

Compared with the Coupe and Spyder, the GranSport has tauter suspension with lower profile tires and the latest electronic systems developed in the Fiat Group such as ‘skyhook’ adaptive damping, normal and sports mode, stability control and the Cambiocorsa semi-automatic sequential gearbox, which is similar to those developed by Ferrari for its F1 cars.

Front and rear suspension is by double wishbones, all made from aluminum forgings to reduce weight, coil springs and adaptive skyhook dampers and anti-roll bars. Skyhook damping means that the controller computes position and angle of the body relative to an imaginary point in the sky and adjusts the damping accordingly.

Together with Maserati’s latest 4.2 literV-8 which develops 395 bhp at 7,000 rpm, and maximum torque of 330 lbft (452 Nm) at 4,500 rpm, this is a great package suggesting that this will be a great grand tourer, with effortless power when you need it.

But does it work?

The specification may be good, but the question is always whether it adds up on the road. First impressions are good. The Gransport is not as low as some supercars, so it is an easy car to slip into. Adjust the electrically controlled seat, set the steering wheel position, and you’re all ready to go. The instruments are pretty good two simple main dials with white numerals on a dark blue background, with the minor ones at the sides.

The gears are controlled by a pair of good paddles behind the wheel, except for reverse which is selected by a small lever, and then when you want to go forward you pull on the up paddle, and first gear is engaged. Very easy once you get used to it.

You have both manual and automatic modes, and Sport this also controls the damping. Sport shifts at slightly higher speeds, but as normal shifts up at 7,000 rpm, you only use that when you’re really hustling and need the stiffer suspension.

V-8 burble promises power

Press the start button, and after a couple of turns, the engine springs to life with a burble promising the power about to come through. How does the sequential box compare with a manual? There’s a lot of controversy about these boxes, so let’s get that out of the way. If you are driving very fast, it is excellent. The shifts are fast and fairly smooth and you get

whatever gear you want quickly. When you are cruising along, the shifts are slower and seem to go in a two-stage shift with a slightly jerky movement between. Once you get used to the Cambiocorsa, though, it works well. If you’re dedicated to manual boxes you’ll take some convincing, but there is no manual option on the Gransport.

Terrific grand tourer

Cruising along at speed the Maserati GranSport covers the ground quickly and quietly. On motorways, the car simply eats up the miles as you enjoy the good seat, pleasant steering and good view. Rear vision is very good, but the hood is a little higher than on many a supercar, not that this is a problem.

The ride is excellent, too. True, there is a lot of thumping and bumping on poor road surfaces, but the shocks are well absorbed, in a way that sets standards for supercars and is good proof that you don’t need a hard ride to make a supercar handle. If you switch to Sport mode, the damping is a good deal firmer, and is ideal for track days or driving really hard up mountain passes for example.

Power and handling to suit

Once onto main cross-country roads, you can enjoy the flair and passion that goes with a truly Italian supercar. The engine is willing and very gutsy. Thanks to the wide speed range it has a surge of power at most speeds. Up to about 3,000 rpm, the car accelerates well, but not dramatically, but only hints at the power to come. At these low speeds, the car is fairly quiet.

Get up to 4,000 rpm, and suddenly, the mild note turns into a slightly ragged howl and your neck snaps back as the power thrusts the car forward like a rocket. Before you have time to think, you need to shift up or brake for the corner coming up fast. If you shift up, then as you pour the power so you need to stiffen your neck to withstand the terrific acceleration.

On country roads, the GranSport shows its true colors. Acceleration is vivid maxima in the lower gears are about 50, 70 and 90 mph and the car turns in sharply into any curve or corner, mostly cornering very flat. There is no hesitation, and the nicely weighted steering gives good feedback of the bumps and hollows, but not so much indication of how well the tires are gripping. A little more feel would be welcome.

As you might expect from a thoroughbred, the GranSPort tracks round corners as if on rails, and does not divert from the line you steer on the straights or corners, whether bumpy or not.

Neutral handling

The handling is neutral through almost all corners, with a feeling that over steer is coming next except that the stability control prevents it. It is surprising how often the stability control comes in for a second or two.

Accelerate hard from a T-junction, and the car will spin the wheels for a second or two enough for the back end to step out a shade but then be pulled under control by the electronics.

With wide, low profile tires, the car has masses of cornering power, so that generally you just swing your way around. Of course, with that weight of the engine up front it is actually over the front wheels, but the weight distribution is balanced to some extent by the rear-mounted gearbox under steer can show up. In particular, on long slow bends the under steer builds up, but you can overcome that with a little flick on the wheel as you enter the corner, and proceed without losing speed. Lift usually has a similar effect, but slows you down.

On twisty country roads, the GranSport is a joy to drive. You accelerate hard out of corners, brake before the next one and click down two or three gears with the paddles at the same time, and turn in quickly and surely. Round she goes, and off you go again, pushed back into the seat with that dramatic acceleration.

During these exercises the steering sometimes feels a little low geared, but overall it is hard to fault this great grand tourer. It is a more practical car than many a supercar, and is near the top of the league at the grand touring end.

If you are thinking of buying a Porsche 911, because of its combination of power and space, the GranSport makes an excellent alternative, with better handling, but worse fuel consumption. Other competitors include the Aston Martin

V8 Vantage only a two-seater and the Jaguar XK, which needs the supercharged engine of the XKR to compete. Buy the Maserati GranSport and you’ll get a supercar with real character, great looks and it is exciting to drive.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8870282010128861685.post-12664150162044295852021-03-07T01:37:00.005-08:002023-07-22T20:39:00.434-07:00Aston Martin V12 Vantage, V-12 Engine In Compact Two-Seater Coupe

Latest of the now wide range of Aston Martins is the Aston Martin V12 Vantage - basically the V8 Vantage, but with the V-12 replacing the fine V-8. Surprisingly, despite the extra four cylinders, the new car has the same overall length and wheelbase as the smaller Vantage model.

The V12 Vantage is also pretty light, resulting in a 0-60 mph time of around 4.1 seconds, just making it into our exotic cars category. Top speed is 190 mph – both acceleration and top speed are similar the DBS, but the handling is more sporty.

With wide tracks and wheels, the new car is wider than the old one, which has enabled the use of a wider air intake and grille and air intake below, some of the air being diverted to the brakes. Wider fenders also give the car a more aggressive look.

Louvred hood and wider body

In keeping the Aston Martin understatement, the hollow sills are designed to channel air through to the back of the car instead of beneath, thus reducing lift. Louvred air outlets in the hood not only reduce temperature in the engine compartment, but also reduce lift, by drawing air out into a high pressure area.

At the rear, an enlarged spoiler helps reduce lift, while the under body has been redesigned to include an improved diffuser, which maintains down force, while directing air at the oil cooler.

Aston Martin V-12 6-liter engine

The latest version of the Aston Martin 6.0 liter V-12 engine develops 510 bhp at 6,500 rpm, with maximum torque of 420 lb ft (570 Nm) way up there at at 5,750 rpm, an indication that this is an engine delivering power near the top end.

To get that extra power, a ‘by-pass’ engine air intake port that opens at 5,500 rpm is used with a revised induction system and re-profiled air inlet ports.

However, as so much power is available, the V12 Vantage will have plenty of performance at all speeds - unless you come up against a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano that is.

The fact is that 510 bhp sounds pretty good, but it is 90 bhp less than the output of the 6-liter 599 GTB Fiorano. And the Ferrari engine produces maximum torque at almost the same speed – 5,600 rpm. It is nothing new for Astons to have less power than Ferrari. The two cars weigh virtually the same, too, with the V12 Vantage weighing in at 3,704 lb ( 1,680 kg). However, the Ferrari is longer, with the complete engine behind the front axle.

As on the V8 Vantage, the six-speed manual gearbox is mounted at the rear in unit with the final-drive unit, the drive being transmitted through a torque tube from the engine. This helps put more weight on the rear wheels. Even so, squeezing the V-12 engine into the the front end has resulted in the front of the engine hanging forward of the front axle, rather than behind as in the case of the V8.

Front:rear weight distribution

Aston Martin quotes a front:rear weight distribution of 51:49, which is better than most conventional front-engine sports cars, but not quite so good for traction as on the V8.

Beneath the elegant body is the aluminum frame, made from extrusions and castings used on the V8 Vantage, and there is the same double wishbone front and rear suspension.

Stiffer suspension

However, the suspension has been modified extensively to suit the larger and heavier engine. The ride height of the V12 Vantage has also been lowered by 15 mm, and the spring rates are much stiffer - 45% stiffer all round - and the front anti-roll bar is 15% stiffer. To reduce under steer, the rear anti-roll bar is 75% stiffer than on the V8 Vantage.

Weight is saved, and braking performance improved by the use of carbon-ceramic brakes all round - 15.7 in (398 mm) diameter at the front and 14.2 in (360 mm) at the rear. There are six-pot front brake calipers and four at the rear.

Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires are fitted, 255/35 ZR19 at the front, and 295/30 ZR19, these being mounted on forged aluminum wheels.

Three-mode stability control

Aston Martin's stability control, which is fitted, now has extra modes of operation – it has normal, track and off settings, the track setting being ideal for aggressive driving.

Overall, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage is a sporty addition to the exotic car world, which will succeed owing to its combination of all-round performance and elegant styling. The low weight of 3,704 lb ( 1,680 kg) is a factor in the performance, giving a power:weight ratio of about 300 bhp per tonne. Even so, the performance is very similar to that of the DBS.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8870282010128861685.post-80274870237276559802021-03-03T21:56:00.007-08:002023-07-22T20:39:07.008-07:00 The Importance of The Vehicle Tires

It is interesting to learn and understand the finally installed in our car a tire of certain characteristics and not others can mean not only a different performance but also in certain specified cases save life in emergencies or unfavorable circumstances.

Whether you have a car and have terrific skills: If the tires are of poor quality, lack of drawing and pressures are inadequate, there is nothing to do and your security is at risk. The car, in extreme situations, can become undrivable ; the feeling is like driving on ice. The tire is much deformed (see the area of contact with the ground when the pressure is low), which makes the bands are heated and, especially with high temperature, there can be danger of bursting. You can rely on the quality of industrial tires.

The first thing to understand is that a car without tires is working good half, and is that which makes sense if a vehicle is mobilized to worry that the means used for this task is in good condition (such as shoes of an athlete), so that at that instant is crucial view drawing of the tire, the pressure thereof and the appropriate size thereof. There another risk of tires with inadequate pressure is to break the tire (the tire undergoes a pinch between the rim, for example, a curb.)

Less bad is to take higher pressures than recommended, unless it is an outrage. The car loses comfort, but not serious and bumpy roads, the wheels bounce a lot, which makes you lose stability and longer stopping distances. The solid tires are completely solid so it does not require maintenance. They are made of rubber compounds that provide durability and strength, increasing productivity and performance. They have better support to the overweight.

The air pressure is so important that if not well adjusted or calibrated, the car can burst a tire, lose control, deformation among other things, all which of course does not point to anything positive. Assuming you invest a lot of money on quality tires for the car, the problem would no longer have or not the right lead, but to know to keep it, that’s where the pressure due must be controlled, as well as shocks and alignment of the tires, preventing wear faster than it should.
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8870282010128861685.post-58363445824361273582021-02-24T22:16:00.005-08:002023-07-22T20:39:46.872-07:00 Honda BR-V For Family Vacation

Over more than 2,100 orders and 700 units already in owner hands, the BR-V is quickly becoming one of Honda Cars Philippines' best-selling models. Already making a name for itself by being the most affordable 7-seat SUV in the country (or a crossover if you prefer).
BR-V has heralded a youthful and sporty design, family-oriented features, and unmatched utility. Recently, we went through the steps, taking the 495 km overland journey from Isabela to Baler to Manila. With a route that combines dense mountain roads, winding coastal highways, and of course, the inevitable extreme traffic, here are 7 reasons we think the Honda BR-V should be your next vacation travel vehicle.

Comfortable for drive

You would think Honda engineers just jacked up the Mobilio MPV and called it a day, right? Apparently, that's not the case. The BR-V features extensive tweaking of its undercarriage. It starts off with a geometric suspension but so far has a unique body mounting point. These changes not only provide additional ground clearance (up to 201 mm in total), but also give it more stable and more stable cornering characteristics along with a smoother ride. Under steer is visible, but that's expected because of the BR-V's requirements to carry 7 people. If there is one thing Honda needs to improve on is controlling excessive tire noise.

Great seats

Often overlooked in the BR-V are the chairs: they are actually supportive and comfortable. You would mistake Honda for just inserting a Mobilio seat into the BR-V and be done with it. No sir. The BR-V not only offers adjustable headrests on all three rows (yes, including the one at the front), but keeping in touch with the SUV's more premium positioning, they are also better supported. The skins on the V variant are also worth mentioning as they either don't look or don't fit on the Civic. The rest of the pack remains the same with the second row sliding, lying down, and falling and the third row folding. Unfortunately, there is no adjustable height for the driver's seat and that the third row is still locked and locked with rudimentary hooks.

Large space

Unlike other "small" 7-seaters out there, even with the third row upwards, the BR-V can swallow a sizable amount of cargo, probably good for 4-5 backpacks. The 223 liters space then grew to an enormous 691 liters with the third row folded - that's bigger than Honda's own CR-V (589 liters), Kia Sorento (660 liters), Mitsubishi Pajero (663 liters), and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado ( 621 liters). Not only a winner in terms of space, Honda engineers have also designed the BR-V with a low unloading height which makes loading and unloading cargo much easier than other 7-seat SUVs on the market.

Just the right size to go anywhere

Compared to other 7-seater SUVs on the market that are, in other words, ginormous, the BR-V is perfectly proportioned to handle the two-lane or maze provincial highway called Megaworld condo parking. The light steering and airy greenhouse make it easy to get in and out of crowded spaces, but the compact body size allows these 7 seats to turn in just 5.3 meters. This means getting to downtown Binondo will never be a problem. Interestingly, the parking sensors are non-standard (disappointing), but they are part of the Modulo package that adds a cool daytime LED light and some aero kits.

Built with safety

With Honda marketing the BR-V to families, safety was a top priority. As the recipient of the perfect ASEAN 5-Star NCAP score, the BR-V comes with dual SRS airbags, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake power distribution, brake assist and ISOFIX child seat anchors. A big plus is placing Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) as standard equipment (more on VSA). Usually reserved for more expensive vehicles, VSA helps keep the car under control during emergency handling situations. All of this security technology gives you the confidence to travel whenever you have the most valuable thing: your family. Advice for Honda: give us four wheel disc brakes next time. This will greatly improve the BR-V stopping performance.

Enough power and fuel economy

While it is ingrained in our mind that diesel power makes a good travel vehicle, the BR-V petrol engine is no slouch either. The 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine under the hood delivers 120 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque, easily beating its segment opponents. And get this: BR-V has a better power-to-weight ratio than the Toyota Fortuner and Chevrolet Trailblazer! Sure, the Earth Dreams CVT will start the engine to get that power (it's a continuous drone at 4,000-5,000 rpm), but there's no questioning its capabilities here (the V does have a paddle shifter, so you can control the droning rate). On the flip side, the CVT helps in getting the BR-V to reach almost 10 km / L in the city and about 15 km / L on the highway. With a 42 liter tank, road trips of more than 600 kilometers without refueling are possible.

There is a magic button

This last reason is a bit superficial, but given the warm summer months coming, you'll thank Honda engineers for it: the cool BR-V air conditioner. Both the S and V variants get the Manila-approved dual blowers, but V enhances them with automatic climate control. Whether it's an automatic or manual system, there is a magic button labeled "Max Cool". Squeezing that overrides all existing A / C settings and delivers maximum cooling effort from the BR-V air conditioning system. After 15 minutes, it returned to its previous setting. It might also be labeled as "reverse mute button" to soothe rear passengers who constantly complain about Manila heat and you can do it with minimal driving distraction.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
